The final stop on our 18 day National Park tour was the Indianapolis KOA. By this point we had started in Indiana, went down to Kentucky, Tennessee ; up north through Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and back west to Indiana. It was a long road and by this point Jim and the dogs were looking forward to getting back home (I think I could have kept on going 🙂 ).
This campground is located right off the interstate so easy on and easy off. The campground is huge, divided up in to two different sections separated by a small creek. It was mid-October so it was not crowded at all. We choose to stay in the deluxe sites – they had a little more room between each site and the length of the site was long. There was a nice little dog park.
After we arrived and set up camp, the rain moved in. It ended up showering most of the day so it made our last day on this long road trip very chill and relaxing.
One funny thing that we came across was two rows behind us was the twin for Harvey (our RV). After all our travels this was the first (and since only time) we’ve seen an RV like ours. Sadly we never saw the owners so we couldn’t get a laugh with them.

UPDATE:
For our Fall 2018 trip we were heading back down south and spent another night at Indianapolis KOA. We arrived late at night and the park office was already closed but our reservation was posted in the “off hours” area. I have to say navigating through the park in the dark was a bit of a challenge. It was the third week in October so the park was fairly empty (which made things a little easier). One major downside was that we were not able to purchase any firewood (which we could have used it was really cold at night). This is a nice RV park when traveling through Indiana. Very easy access to the expressway – a good place for an overnight trip.
