Our first nights stay in our two week trip out to the Adirondacks. This was only our 3rd trip out in our new RV so my travel planning skills were not the best. It was a very long drive to get her from Chicago (331 miles). We now know, this is just too long of a drive. By the time we arrived at the campground, it was almost 9 pm, we had been driving for what seemed like days. To say we were all exhausted (even the dogs) was an understatement.
When we finally arrived we were greeted by a Halloween parade by the local folks (more about that below). Huron River Valley Resort consists of mostly seasonal campsites but does offer a few spots for those of us just passing through. This place is HUGE.

Back to the Halloween greeters – every year the campground is decorated for Halloween and certain weekends they offer haunted hayrides through the grounds. Because we arrived so late we were driving right through this. Even though being very tired, it was a fun little drive through the park to get to our campsite which was located in the back towards the marina.
