As part of our 2016 Turkey Trot, we went down to Southern Illinois to check out some of the local state parks. We spent one night at Giant City State Park and decided to head on over to Ferne Clyffe State Park for the rest of our trip.
Ferne Clyffe State Park is located about 25 miles west of Giant City State Park we spent 4 days here (one of them we were rained out). As with Giant City State Park, there were only a few other campers during this week. The campsites were not totally private, but there was a good amount of space between them.

Ferne Clyffe State Park is much smaller than Giant City State Park, but the great thing was that some hiking trails were right off the campground.
