The third stop in our Fall 2017 National Park trip was Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in Corbin Kentucky. The campground is located just outside of Daniel Boone National Forest. I had no idea of the location when I booked the reservation, I choose it because it was right off of the highway. The area is beautiful! Lots of trees and hills, I had no idea Kentucky was so pretty!
We booked a pull through patio site in advance which ended up being right behind the main building. Not too much privacy but the campground had lots of trees and the leaves were just starting to show some colors. For me, after getting camp set up, it was this campground that I finally started to feel like we were on vacation.

Site #12
This KOA had a pool (right behind us) and a large dog park that was towards the entrance to the campground.

What was nice about this campground was that it was tucked away about a mile from the highway (on a beautiful country road) and at the highway was a huge Walmart and a few restaurants. At that stop we realize we forgot something so it was a nice quick ride to Walmart to pick up a few things yet the campground was far enough from everything that it felt a little like a state park (minus the spacious sites). THough we were there for less than 24 hours, we enjoyed our stay at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA.
